Privacy Notice
Preamble
GDPR is a piece of legislation that purports to protect us from large corporate organisations but in reality the ones best suited to administer it are large corporate organisations. Nevertheless we must comply, even if the information collected is simply the name, address & job details. We must also consider other eventualities.
Although I am a sole trader, this privacy notice uses the 'royal we' for convenience. It currently refers to 'this business'.

Lawful bases and data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using your personal information. There is a list of possible lawful bases in the UK GDPR. You can request other information such as details about where we get personal information from and who we share personal information with. How long we keep information
All personal data is kept for as long as needed. For tax purposes this is typically at least 6 years after the accounting period on all completed transactions. For incomplete transactions such as quotes & other enquiries, the retention period is much less; typically up to a year. After this time the personal data will be deleted or if kept for research purposes, it will be anonymised.
